Thanksgiving Trip!

Alright, i made the slideshow, so, i could write about our EXPERIENCE this weekend! Interesting, for sure.

K, so a couple months ago, kirk got dooped into those "scams" (or whatever) the things where they offer you for $100 you can get 3 night stay in a hotel, a couple passes to shows, etc. ALL for just sitting thru a 90 minute speal about a timeshare... no obligation necessary!

So, kirk chose branson, missouri. because his grandpa cullimore built an Imax theatre there and lived there for about 6 years and it was an interesting place to visit. All the singers, shows, etc.

Anyways, SO, he bought the package. We planned to go for thanksgiving this year. The deal was, for $100 we would get 3 night stay in a hotel, Passes for all 4 of us to some SHOWS (like osmonds, etc), passes to silver dollar city (kinda like a glorified lagoon for you utahans), and something else. I don't even know!

So, we leave later then we thought on wednesday afternoon at about 1ish we drive about 5 hours to get there. Took longer since i have to pee soo much! (graphic but true, i AM pregant for heaven sakes!)
and we get there at 6:30 pm.

i say, "kirk, are you SURE they are still open to do our little TIME share situation?" he is like, "Sure... UH OOPS, i think i forgot the address at home! and the phone number! oh well, we can drive around branson to see if we can see the place!"

SO, we drive around for about an hour LOOKING for WHO KNOWS WHAT!? NEITHER OF US DID! so, finally, i was like, "well for SURE they are Closed NOW! so, looks like we missed it!"

SO, we had to go and find our own motel to stay in. Oh of course since we took this trip because we got SUCH the BEST deal, and it would be SEMI cheap, 3 night stay for $100? well, NOPE! we got our own motel and it was cheap still but at $90 a NIGHT!!!

SO, that was great. whatever. we settled in for the evening. LUCKILY kirk called his grandpa (at 7:30 pm) after i had been asking him to call ALL week long.... and he asked him if there were ANY shows he could get us into for free!? (since he has connections down there and all!)
his grandpa for sure hooked us up at the IMAX. and so Thursday we went to see The Bee movie, (kayla wanted to see soo bad!) and then we ate thanksgiving dinner at the restaurant in the theater)

Then we took a drive up to Silver dollar city (remember we were going to get FREE passes to that too?) SO, it said on the sign $10 we were like, RIGHT ON! we will only stay for an hour MAX since it is BLOODY cold outside.

WELL, we took the tram to the entrance... walked up, waited in line (PACKED!) and it was $50 a PERSON!!!

Kirk did NOT tell me this until WE GOT IN!i flipped out! i was like, "so much for our NICE CHEAP trip!" SO, of course since we paid SOO MUCH to get in, well we HAD to stay for oooh UNLIMITED HOURS! we stayed from 4:15 till 9:15 pm! OH my gosh! it was soo cold, kayla was crying saying, "i am freezing mom! please!" but, she is soo good, when we say sorry, she is fine.

anyways, so, we woke up on friday morning, kirk was about to have us go to beg to see if we could get into a free show, i said, TIME TO GO HOME! so, we ate at cracker barrel and LEFT! we came home Earlier then planned. and it turned out a NICE family vacation. Just more INTERESTING then i would have thought is all!

It was VERY nice and thoughtful of kirk to make it special and take us to all those places to have a GOOD TIME. I am HAPPY we didn't have to sit thru the "time share" thing, because BOTH of us are NOT good at RESISITING. (hence him buying the pass to begin with.) well, we have another shot, because i failed to mention, kirk actually had bought A SECOND branson trip BEFORE we even went! OOOH MY HEAVENS!

here are some pictures! sorry this is soo long! had to share.
The last photo is of McDonalds it was Over the freeway, soo weird. it is the LARGEST mcdonalds in the world! good thing i got a pic! ENJOY!

Sounds fun and crazy. I miss Branson--it really is a fun town. And, even if it was 50 dollars the pictures of the girls in those coats at Siver Dollar city...priceless.
