So, here goes, I have been getting a lot of requests of how i have done this whole "weight loss" thing!
Here goes a Mini version!
K. what needs to happen first is you HAVE To change your eating! everyone says, NO NO not my eating! but, that is FIRST! i cut out sugars for a couple months! that is Drastic! but, i was in a hurry to lose the weight. So, it helps!
It still works if you don't COMPLETLY cut out sugars though! it still does.
ANYWAY... SO, i had a trainer.. BUT, she pretty much went along the same lines of Body for life. Her way is different...she comes up with most the combinations, and makes it for each individual person... She was AMAZING!!!!! she knew everything there was to know about everything!
I did body for life forever ago, (this was PRE children) and it worked REALLY good too!
SO, if you are looking for RECIPES? BODY FOR LIFE> and Eating for LIFE . (you may have success at Costco!) we unfortunately DO NOT have one out here:( i am seriously crying! )
anyways. SO, the eating is basically this... PROTEIN with Carb, EVERY two to three hours for 6-7 meals!
I made them simple...
LIKE< breakfast... 1 egg 1 egg white., 1/2 c. oatmeal with 1/2 c. berries.
2 hours ... 1 string cheese *moz only*, 1 apple
2 hours.... 1-2 slices turkey on 2 pieces SARA LEE WHEAT bread, with only mustard, and tons of veggies.
with shake...1/2 orange.. handful berries (frozen better), and some lemonade crystal light... Mix into a shake. SERIOUSLY... is stinking good! tastes like sugar.
WORKOUT ( i now workout in the AM but, i use to workout pm. doesn't make a difference really. AM is better usually though) ...
1 hour lift weights... ex. arms/back or arms and chest one day
legs next.
20-30 min of moderate cardio! ( i hate cardio! supposed to do the Incline walking, running for like a min, then go slower then go up incline... then go faster.. etc. Mix it up!)
Post workout meal... 1 protein shake (whey protein 1 scoop with 1 tsp Glutamine.)
and a carb. i would do, oh some BUCKWHEAT or WHEAT pancakes with Sugar free syrup. really good. only ONE serving.. 2-3 pancakes. YUM!
2 - 3 hours later.. dinner.. Talapia fish or chicken. with handful of brown rice and tons of veggies.. you can steam the chicken or grill or whatever and can cook in salsa or whatever.
2-3 hours later...fat free cottage cheese and fat free dannon yogurt!
YOU EAT ALL DAY LONG! OBVIOUSLY>.. it is so simple, and yummy. you never really feel hungry! the yogurt, syrup, and crystal light and fruits, help with sweet tooth! it is really wonderful!
and in Body for life, you get ONE free meal a week. NOT A FREE DAY a free MEAL! ( i think in body for life, you get a free day, BUT, it is best to get a free meal) but, don't go hog wild. you won't want to either, because you will feel gross. TRUST me!
Fast meal ideas include the following...
- fat free dannon yogurt, ff cottage cheese ( can add berries in the am, till 5 pm!) or cottage cheese and KASHI cereal ( 1/2 cup or less)
-string cheese and 10 wheat thins
-ff dannon yogurt with almonds
- kashi bar
- sugar free jello with 3 tbsp cottage cheese
- 1 dannon yog. mixed with some fruit and ice and crystal light. with 1/2 orange.. in shake too is good!
- 2 slices sara lee wheat bread with 1 Tbsp of NATURAL skippy peanut butter!
- 1/2 can tuna mixed with 1 tsp ff mayo or mwhip, wrap in 1/2 a wheat tortilla. with a 4 oz sweet potato
- large salad with 4-6 oz grilled chicken, SALSA and lots of veggies ( the salsa is the dressing!) good!
- 3/4 c.Cottage cheese, 3/4c. berries and 1/2 c.kashi (my fav meal)
These meal ideas are NOT in body for life, my trainer gave them to me. She is amazing! but, honestly... body for life works too! i just needed someone ON my butt every day! it was helpful!
Working out is KEY as well, OBVIOUSLY> but building muscle is KEY! it helps burn fat faster then running on tredmill for hours at a time!
I use to go to SPIN class, then run on tredmills, then go to pump classes at golds, for hours, and almost kill myself... i lost NOTHING till i changed my EATING like this, and lifted weights.
WEIGHTS are FUN! i LOVE lifting! it is seriously so much more fun than anything! i LOVE IT!
WELL not anything! but, still better than cardio!

thanks so much heather! eating is totally my downfall. i love working out, but eating is my baby and i do it way too much. i know that is where i need to work and i'm going to do it!!
i've totally bought those books and i know that body 4 life works...i am starting full fledge tomorrow...you are a total inspiration!
